FOR SEA KAYAKS AND ROWING SHELLS STERNWHEELS is compact, light and inexpensive. Small enough to stow in the boat fully assembled, though wheels remove easily. Quickly mounted on the boat's stern (rudders are no problem), it eases transporting single or double kayaks (the cart's capacity is about 75 lbs., keeping in mind that you carry the same weight at the other end). The cart can be left on the boat during car transportation or storage on a rack. An improved design enhances durability and accomodates most hull shapes (if it doesn't fit the stern, it may work fine on the bow). Adjustable pads allow fit to various hull shapes and minimize gelcoat wear. All parts are corrosion resistant, allowing launches in saltwater. FOR KAYAKS, CANOES, SMALL SKIFFS, INFLATABLES MIDWHEELS is ideal for bigger and bulkier loads (up to 175 lbs.), including all kayaks and canoes -- hardshell, folding or inflatable. Also works well for carrying smaller outboard-powered inflatables or light skiffs. Includes a "kickstand" to hold the cart upright while positioning the boat. Takes apart easily for stowage in the boat - the support framework folds into a package only 12" x 11" x 3", plus 19" and 15" rods and the two 8" wheels. Webbing accomodates hulls up to 95" in circumference (extensions available). For softer surfaces, a 4-wheel model with two more inside wheels is available. All parts are corrosion resistant, and the cart can be submerged in saltwater for easy launching. This cart is a less expensive, lighter, and more compact alternative to heavier duty models with larger and fully-pnuematic wheels, which are better suited to the softest and roughest terrain.
